Treatments with Epoxy Materials
Work with Epoxy Materials
Treatments with epoxy materials.
Composite Repair, thanks to the use of the most advanced technologies, offers surface treatment and restoration solutions through the application of epoxy components.
These treatments ensure maximum efficiency and durability of metal surfaces, preventing deterioration and prolonging the life of the systems.
Our services include:
- Restoration and consolidation of metal surfaces, such as flanges, cooling plates, valve seats, pump impellers and much more.
- Epoxy treatments for the protection of metal tanks used for drinking water.
- Epoxy treatments for metal drinking water heaters, improving corrosion resistance.
- Restoration and protection of shell and tube heat exchangers.
- Internal treatment of tanks (oil/fuel etc.) where leaks are difficult to detect.
- In addition to these specific interventions, we offer customized solutions for different types of surfaces, guaranteeing quality and reliability for every industrial need.
Treatments with Epoxy Materials
Epoxy material treatment is widely used in various sectors due to the resistance, adhesion and waterproof properties of these materials.
Epoxy resins are chemical compounds that, when mixed with a hardener, form a hard, durable material.

FAQ
Types of Epoxy Materials
- Liquid epoxy resins : Mainly used for coatings, bonding and surface repairs.
- Reinforced epoxy resins : Combine the resin with materials such as glass or carbon fiber to obtain composite structures.
- Epoxy adhesives : Used to join materials with high bond strength.
Common Applications
- Protective Coatings : Used to waterproof and protect surfaces such as metals, concrete and wood from atmospheric and chemical agents.
- Repairs : Used to repair damage to composite materials, such as carbon fiber or fiberglass, as well as metal pipes and surfaces.
- Adhesion : Epoxy resins are great for bonding dissimilar materials (e.g. metal and plastic).
- Industrial Flooring : Used to create durable and resistant surfaces in industrial environments.
- Electronics : Used to encapsulate electronic components, providing electrical isolation and physical protection.
Epoxy Treatment Application Phases
Surface Preparation
- The surface must be clean from dust, dirt, oils or grease, because epoxy resin requires a well-prepared surface for good adhesion.
- Sanding : If necessary, sand the surface to improve resin adhesion.
Mixing the Resin and Hardener
- Epoxy resins are made up of two main components: resin and hardener .
- Follow the proportions indicated by the manufacturer, as incorrect mixing can compromise the mechanical properties of the final material.
- Mix the resin and hardener thoroughly to avoid bubbles.
Application
- Coating : Apply the mixture with a roller, brush or spatula, depending on the surface to be treated.
- Bonding : When used as an adhesive, apply an even layer between the surfaces to be bonded and press to achieve a solid bond.
- Repair : For structural repairs, epoxy resin can be combined with reinforcing fabrics such as glass or carbon fiber.
Hardening & Finishing
- The curing process may vary depending on the type of epoxy resin and the environmental conditions (temperature and humidity). Generally, it can take from 12 to 24 hours.
- Post-curing : In some industrial applications, post-curing can be done with controlled heating to improve the material properties.
- After complete curing, the surface can be sanded or polished if necessary.
- In some applications, a final coating is applied to improve protection or aesthetics.
